Harkany
20 km north of the city of Pecs, at the foot of Mount Tenkesh, there is one of the most famous and beautiful medicinal baths in the country Harkan. Its healing properties were known to the Turks as early as the 16th century. After they left Hungary, the source was forgotten. It was rediscovered in the 1920s. 19th century

Indications for bathing and drinking:
When bathing, Harkany medicinal waters are good for the treatment of joints,
the musculoskeletal system, psoriasis, gout, as well as gynecological diseases
and infertility. The healing water is also suitable for drinking, having a
positive effect on the stomach and digestive system.
Improvement in addition to healing water is facilitated by excellent natural
conditions, a wonderful climate and microclimate.
Water has a strong effect on the body. Staying in the pool for more than 20 minutes is not recommended. Between bathing you need to rest at least half an hour.
Contraindications:
Bathing in the waters of Harkany is not recommended for

severe diseases of the heart, circulation, coronary vessels,

and some other diseases.
Thermal bath
Renovated in the fall of 2003, the bathhouse is located in a grove on an area
of 13.5 hectares. On the territory of 3000 sq. m open and indoor pools, pools
with effects, pearl baths, saunas, steam rooms, a natural medicine center.
Water gymnastics is held twice a day.
The local rheumatologists work with the most modern medical equipment. The range of services of the bath includes: carbonic bath, therapeutic and reflex massage, electrotherapy procedures, lymphatic massage, therapeutic exercises, mud poultices. The peculiarity of the latter is that sterile natural mud is mixed with Kharkany medicinal water, which perfectly relieves inflammation.
Local Attractions:
It is interesting to get acquainted with the sights of the lively city of Pécs,
imbued with the atmosphere of the Mediterranean resorts. There are many
interesting things on the streets and squares. For example, the Kharka spring
in Zhigmond Park. The architectural drawing of the fountain traces the motifs
of the legend of the Harkany water. The Catholic Church is also interesting.
The history of the Passion of the Lord is depicted on its walls. In the church
park there are statues of the most important personalities of Hungarian
history.
Near the city of Harkány in the direction of Siklós, there is the Mariadyud Church, one of the most famous Hungarian places of pilgrimage to the shrines associated with the Virgin Mary.
In the city of Captain Tenkesh Shiklosh, it is worth visiting the fortress, exhibitions, including the panopticon of the famous Captain, and the jami of Malkoch Bey, which received the European Nostra Prize after reconstruction.
Villani has delightful old wine cellars and the Wine Museum.
