Egerszalok

Among the sulphurous medicinal waters, this calcium-magnesium bicarbonate water, which also contains 12 biologically essential and 7 beneficial microelements (eg sodium), occupies one of the very first places. It is suitable mainly for the treatment of injuries of the musculoskeletal system, articular and rheumatic diseases.

In the southern part of the settlement there are cave «apartments», hollowed out in rhyolite tuff, typical for this area. Although they have recently ceased to be used as housing, these «apartments» are an example of human ingenuity, caused by the need to create a roof over your head and adapt to environmental conditions.

From here you can go to see the beauties and sights of the city of Eger, as well as the surrounding sights of the Matra and Bükk mountain areas. Egerszalok winemakers with their fine wines welcome guests in their wonderful wine cellars, which are multi-meter caves, hollowed out in rhyolite tuff, the walls of which are covered with bizarre «carpets» of fungi. Large investments in the construction of a medical tourism center, carried out at the moment, will change not only the appearance, but also the life of the area.
